The last couple of days before we went from Dobbiaco/Toblach we really maximixed the time outside, everytime the weather was nice. That is one of the perfect things with our job, planning the days the way we want. This day we went up in the mountains for breakfast, and while we were eating we decided to go up in the mountains opposite our breakfast place, to a plateau 2000 m.a.s.l, named Prato Piazza/Plätzwiese. Up there it is always so beautiful. We took a long walk and then finished the trip with lunch at one of our favourite restaurants, Rifugio Prato PIazza/Berggasthof Plätzwiese.
Breakfast at Ratsberg/Monte Rota
For us the last day on snow was on April 8th this year. We went for a trip to Antholz/Anterselva, one of few places in the near that still had prepared tracks. Quite good tracks but very icy. This training session, the last for the season on snow, was also the first time I did some more skating after my stress fracture. As you can see on the picture the whole family was in the tracks, and when Marcus did some skating I and Chiara went down to the nearest village and visiting a playground. Take a look at the environment and the view from that!
Ganska bra spår men väldigt isigt.
We're now back on Åland. Good to come back when you are met by spring, sun and flowers :) Busy days right now with lots of work and lots of unpacking and fixing things with the house and the garden. In between we are also doing some training; some running, some rollerskiing and some cycling. The last couple of days in Dobbiaco/Toblach were very nice and we had a very good journey to Åland, that started with some days in Venice, and then a stop in beautiful Trient/Trento and in a small German village named Kösching. Some posts from all these experiences will follow, as soon as I have some more time :)

A throwback to one of our favourite restaurants in the Dolomites, Malga Misurina. Great food, very nice view and many interesting things for children.
When you're full and satisfied after lunch you just continue to the playground. It is built up in such beautiful surroundings and has many nice equipment in wood.
And when you have finished playing it is time to meet the animals. At the farm you can come close to cows, horses, donkeys, chicken, ducks, rabbits and cats. It is really a great place for children (and of course also adults) to come close to animals.
Perfect to be at a place where there are lots of nice playgrounds, official ones as well as our own backyard
It has been absolutely amazing to be at the balcony lately, and it is also quite cool to see the balloons that are often in the air
When it earlier this week started to rain, Marcus and I realised that it has been over half a year since we have seen any rain. We have really had amazing weather almost all the time, and when it has been any precipitation it has been snow. It was really fun to see Chiara's reaction when I and she stepped out the door and it rained; she was just shouting mama, rain, mama, rain and just looked up at the sky smiling.
Can you imaging a better place for breakfast. Magnific view, relaxing tranquility, the rays of the sun which starts to warm and a nice coffee with a croissant. And then when the cup is empty a nice walk taking in the all the beauty.
We've been having an absolutely amazing weather the last couple of days/weeks, (or actually it has been great the whole winter:)), sunny and warm, and I think that I would present the last couple of days/weeks in a serie of posts, starting with some training sessions.
Still good skiing conditions for both classic and skate in Antholz/Anterselva on March 30th. First time in two years we've been here, last time was on the Bitahlon World Championship 2020.
Has started to become very little snow on Dobbiaco's/Toblach's world cup tracks, but they working hard by driving out more snow since the National championships is taken place here this week, from March 30th to April 3rd.
The last training session for the season on the Dobbiaco/Toblach-Cortina track
