Fantastic weekend in Stockholm part 1

The same weekend we visited friends in Upplands Väsby, we also had our 11th wedding anniversary. This year Marcus had planned a very nice surprise. Saturday evening he told that we were going out in Stockholm archipelago with the old beautiful steamboats. The movie Saltkråkan is really a favorite of both Marcus and I, and Chiara really likes it too, so boarding these boats was very nice and a bit nostalgic. I have also always talked about that it would be so nice to see more of Stockholm's archipelago, so he really hits the nail on the head. Since we didn't have so much time, and because we thought that maybe Chiara (and maybe also we:), wouldn't find it very nice to be sitting too many hours on a ferry, we decided to go to Vaxholm (even though we have been there before). Vaxholm is often called the capital of the archipelago and is famous for its fortress and old wooden houses.

Samma helg som besökte vi vänner i Upplands Väsby, hade vi också vår 11: e bröllopsdag. I år hade Marcus planerat en mycket trevlig överraskning. Lördag kväll berättade han att vi skulle åka ut i Stockholms skärgård med de gamla vackra ångbåtarna. Filmen Saltkråkan är verkligen en favorit hos både Marcus och mig, och Chiara gillar den också, så att gå ombord på dessa båtar var väldigt trevligt och lite nostalgiskt. Jag har också alltid pratat om att det skulle vara så mysigt att se mer av Stockholms skärgård, så han träffade verkligen huvudet på spiken. Eftersom vi inte hade så jättemycket tid, och eftersom vi tänkte att Chiara (eller kanske vi också:), kanske inte skulle tycka att det skulle vara så jättekul att sitta många timmar på en färja, beslutade vi att åka till Vaxholm (även fastän vi har varit där innan). Vaxholm kallas ofta skärgårdens huvudstad och är känd för sin fästning och sina gamla trähus.

We had a very nice visit on Vaxholm, and it was really nice to be out at the sea. The ferries are in very good condition and it is so nice that they keep using them as a mean of transport for both locals and tourists.

Vi hade det väldigt trevligt på Vaxholm, och det var riktigt härligt att vara ute på havet. Färjorna är i väldigt fint skick och det är verkligen så roligt att de fortsätter att använda dem som transportmedel för både lokalbefolkningen och turister.
