Alleghe

Today I'm going to present a little gem in the Dolomites, lovely Alleghe.

Alleghe is a lovely place just by a lake, at the foot of the majestic Dolomites. Its location right by a lake makes the place a bit different compared to many other villages and towns in the Dolomites.

We have visited Alleghe twice, once in late April and once in June. Both times we had a fantastic weather, which of course made the experience even better. The place is popular for skiing in the winter and for hiking in the summer. Our last visit to Alleghe was this spring and then there were many skiiers who went offpist just a couple of miles up in the mountains from Alleghe, it looked absolutely amazing in the sunshine and the heat. This is probably one of the coolest things about living in the Dolomites, you can have both summer and winter ay the same day!

During the winter, the village's own ski area offers more slopes than Sweden's largest ski resort, which says a lot about the skiing opportunities if you live here. And within only about a 25 minutes long bus ride is more than 500 km of pistes waiting for you!

A great thing by visiting Alleghe if you travel by plane to Italy is that the village is only two hours from Venice, with the airports Venice Marco Polo and Treviso Airport.   /Anna

Alleghe är en jättefin ort precis vid en sjö, vid foten av de mäktiga Dolomiterna. Just dess läge precis vid en sjö gör orten lite annorlunda jämfört med många andra orter i Dolomiterna.

Vi har besökt Alleghe två gånger, en gång precis i slutet på april och en gång i juni. Båda gångerna var det fantastiskt fint väder, vilket ju såklart gjorde upplevelsen ännu bättre. Orten är populär för skidåkning på vintern och för vandringar på sommaren. Vårt andra besök i Alleghe var nu i våras och då var det många som åkte offpist bara ett par mil upp i bergen, såg helt underbart ut i solskenet och värmen. Detta är nog en av de häftigaste sakerna med att bo i Dolomiterna, att du på många ställen kan få både sommar och vinter på samma dag!

Under vintern bjuder byns egna skidområde fler nedfarter an vad Sveriges största skidort bjuder på, vilket säger en hel del om möjligheterna till skidåkning om du bor här. Inom bara cirka 25 minuters bussresa finns mer än 500 km pist som väntar på dig!

En stor fördel om du vill besöka Alleghe och reser med flyg till Italien är att orten ligger endast två timmar från Venedig med flygplatserna Venedig Marco Polo och Treviso flygplats.   /Anna
