 Appr. two weeks ago we went alpine skiing in Sexten/Sesto, a village appr. half an hour from Toblach (and also the place for the start of 3 Zinnen Ski Marathon). Usually we go to Cortina to ski, but this time they have done so many changes there due to the Olympic Games wo we decided to try another place. We had a great time here too, and Chiara really enjoyed it and was happy skiing all day, with just a short stop for lunch. Although we only ski once a year, I think she is very good at it, even though we still use the backpack with leashes in more difficult slopes as safety. Although this place was good too, Marcus and I still prefer Cortina, mostly for the environment – there the views and nature is just amazing. För ungefär två veckor sedan åkte vi utför i Sexten/Sesto, en ort ungefär en halvtimme från Toblach (och även platsen för starten av 3 Zinnen Ski Marathon). Oftast åker vi annars till Cortina för att åka utför, men den här gången har de gjort så många förändringar där på grund av de olympiska spelen att vi bestämde oss för att prova ett annat ställe. De var bra här också, och man såg verkligen hur mycket Chiara gillade det och hade inga problem med att åka hela dagen, med bara ett kort stopp för lunch. Även om vi bara åker en gång om året tycker jag att hon är väldigt duktig, även om vi fortfarande använder ryggsäcken med band i svårare backar som säkerhet. Även om det här stället också var bra föredrar Marcus och jag fortfarande Cortina, främst för miljön – utsikten och naturen är helt fantastisk där.            Lunch at a newly renovated Malga Misurina at Misurina, one of our favourite spots. But next time we hope we can sit outside because the view is mazing, unfortunately it was too cold this time. Very good pasta for Chiara with just sausage and tagliatelle   Hearty north Italian food   As always when we are in Toblach we do a hike up to the church in the mountains behind our house. This time our neighbours dog came along the whole way:) As you can see there was not much snow in t mountains facing south, which made the hike good to do when we did it. Som alltid när vi är i Toblach gör vi en vandring upp till kyrkan i bergen bakom vårt hus. Den här gången följde grannens hund med hela vägen:) So ni ser är det inte mycket snö i bergen som vetter mot syd, vilket gjorde vandringen bra att ta när vi gjorde den.          The main reason for being in Toblach/Dobbiao is of course the cross country-skiing. Even though there isn't so muh natural snow, lots of tracks are open and we have been in almost all of them. Sometimes our sessions have ended with a picnic lunch outside if the weather has been good. Den främsta anledningen till att vara i Toblach/Dobbiaco är förstås längdskidåkningen. Trots att det inte finns så mycket natursnö är många spår öppna, och vi har åkt nästan alla. Ibland har våra pass avslutats med en picknick-lunch utomhus när vädret har varit bra. Very thankful that we could stay in our great friends lovely apartment, and the first night we enjoyed some pizza together. Efter vårt korta stopp i Engadin kom vi till Sand in Taufers/Campo Tures sent på eftermiddagen. Väldigt tacksamma över att få bo i våra goda vänners fina lägenhet, och den första kvällen åt vi pizza tillsammans. But since the road almost passing the Engadin Valley in Switzerland I come up with the suggestion to go there and do some cross ountry-skiing and have a lunch in the sun before heading towards are next accommodation. Since there was a World Cup Super-G race on the same day we should go, we had to go quite eearly in the morning before the tunnel closed for traffic towards Switzerland. And therefore the first stop was for breakfast in Zuoz (the finish in La Diagonela). Efter vår vistelse i Livigno styrde vi kosan mot Sand in Taufers/Campo Tures i Ahrntal/Valle Aurina. Eftersom vägen nästan passerar Engadindalen i Schweiz kom jag med förslaget att åka dit, åka lite längdskidor och äta lunch i solen innan vi skulle fortsätta resan mot vårt nästa boende. Eftersom det var världscup i Super-G samma dag som vi skulle åka, behövde vi åka iväg rätt tidigt på morgonen innan tunneln stängdes för trafik mot Schweiz. Och därför blev vårt första stopp frukost i Zuoz (målgången för La Diagonela).   Then we had absolutely amazing cross country-skiing sessions in the sun. It was freezing cold (-16 degrees) when we arrived in the valley, but we drove until we found a sunny spot and it was just amazing to ski (and it also get really warm after a while:) Sedan fick vi uppleva helt fantastiska längdskidpass i strålande sol. När vi först kom ner i dalen var det bitande kallt, runt –16 grader, men vi fortsatte köra tills vi hittade en plats i solen och helt magisk skidåkning (och dessutom blev det rikigt varmt efter tag).        Back at the same playground in Samedan Chiara and I spent time when Marcus had his finger surgery in 2022. Here comes a post with the first three days. Vi tillrbingade en vecka i Livigno i slutet av december och njöt av lite ledighet, mycket längdskidåkning och tid utomhus, solsken, vackra vyer, italiensk mat, bad och julfirande.
